Engaging with the long tradition of narrative in still-life, these small works pay homage to painters of the past. I pair the imagery of Gentileschi, Turner, Gerome, Goya, Reynolds, Gericault, and LaTour from my art book collection, with living blossoms and fruits of the day. In conversation with the past, I see new narratives unfold as I become engrossed in the current moment of making.
